hurt people hurt people.
cycles of abuse are perpetuated by those who are wounded.
everyone has free will,
but many live without seeing the larger context.
they're unable to grasp options beyond what they've been taught
through cultural conditioning and societal programming.
it's a shame, but it doesn't excuse their actions.
your feelings are valid, even if you've contributed to harmful cycles.
you were acting from your level of awareness at the time.
acknowledge this, and use it as a chance to grow.

Being an introvert is not about where you get your energy. It's how you handle stimulation. Introverts are energized by people too. We're just easily exhausted by loud parties, close talkers, and endless houseguests. I'm not antisocial. I'm pro-quiet.

I spent so much of my teens convinced I would never make it out of them, and then suddenly I am having dreams of being a mother that aren’t nightmares and learning just how much can happen in eighty years. I’ve found something new to fear—that the time will pass and I will forget there is more to do in life than fear.
There isn’t anything left to do now but fear until I grow brave enough to let it go. I used to dream in stories, in mysteries that never resolved. I used to wake without shaking, and I’m only 24. I used to cling to space between me and the generations that made me as though it were the only thing that would make the messes in me dissipate.

We’ve been celebrating the New Year at the wrong time.
Ancient civilizations and astrology tell the story of Spring Equinox as the true New Year. Before the Gregorian calendar, the year began in alignment with nature… at a time of balance, renewal, and awakening.
The Equinox is a time of perfect harmony, a bridge between winters stillness and springs growth.
If January’s resolutions felt forced, maybe it’s because your true rhythm awakens with the Earth. Change starts beneath the surface before it blooms.

💠Fail Safe💠
Birds make great sky - circles of their freedom. How do they do it? They fall, and in falling, they're given wings.

Are you broken? Or inspired?
Life can feel overwhelming. If this happens to you, don't try to flee this moment too quickly. It's going to guide you, and will leave you once it has inspired your growth.  Sometimes, moments of difficulty inspire our deepest commitments to ourselves. Don't fear your greatness; it's going to expand you.

A couple of years ago, I hit rock bottom with burnout. Like, full-on “staring-at-my-computer-screen-doing-nothing-but-eat-and-sleep” vibes. And now? Somehow, I’m a college student at 32 years old, have an ADHD and Autism diagnosis, and am writing here on Substack like I have a thousand subscribers (I don’t), working toward building a career in writing and psychology. Life is weird. Buckle up—this is my story. read it here.

Have you ever walked a labyrinth? If not, I invite you give it a try. If you have one near you, that's great! If you don't know where to find a labyrinth, look through the "Labyrinth Locator" to discover one. It's a type of walking meditation on a path that spirals in toward a center, then back out again. It's a good way to spend time with yourself, check in with yourself, listen to what your heart and intuition have to say to you.
This past Sunday, 3/30, I was invited to share about my 18+ ~ years walking labyrinths as a Spiritual Practice at our weekly UU church service. I shared the pulpit with several other people who also shared about their spiritual practices. Writing this piece was quite fun, so I published it as a Substack post. If you give it a read, my words might give you a clearer picture of how labyrinths can be approached to support you where you are in this moment.
